Smile and the world smiles with you.
Being the “quality person” is a real challenge. Among other things, you have to get over being considered like water torture in the company, not being understood at times, and even that you’re the one always going on and on about this regulation, that document or whatever. It’s a job where you always have to be alert. You have to spot and anticipate risks that could lead to a mistake, assess any faults that occur, think about their causes and decide what steps to take to avoid future faults and achieve our quality targets. Also, it’s a role that has a direct impact on other people, an aspect that the head of quality in any company needs to handle with a certain patience and skill. Change isn’t always well-received, so transmitting it with enthusiasm and confidence also forms part of my job. The quality department has a role that cuts right across the company. It relates to the whole organisation. And if there’s anything more transversal than that in my life, it’s music. I love music. From mediaeval music to the most radical rap. Call me eclectic. This eclecticism is also what makes me enjoy another passion or mine, travelling. Whenever I can I get away somewhere – just where isn’t the most important. What matters is the way from where I am to where I’m going. Along the way is where you discover something as enriching as seeing other realities.
